Jaguar Hall of Fame Inductions- Andover Central High School will be holding the 2018 Jaguar Hall of Fame Inductions at halftime of the boys basketball game TONIGHT. There will be a reception from 5:00 - 6:00 in the ACHS Library for the inductees. This years inductees include patrons, Mary and Terry Huelskamp, and former ACHS and University Of The Pacific softball player, Nikki (Armagost) Sylvester.
The Huelskamp's were major role players in both the 1998 and 2005 USD385 Bond Campaigns acting as Co-Chairs along with being founding members of the Andover Advantage Foundation. At the school level they served on the ACHS Site Council, the ACHS Traditions committee and were supporters of multiple sports teams in which their five children participated.
Nikki (Armagost) Sylvester led ACHS to its first softball state championship in 2009 and then went on to a very successful career at the University of The Pacific. A 3rd Team All-American and a two time Big West Conference Offensive Player-of-the-Year. Armagost is in the top 5 in 8 different categories of the University Of The Pacific record books along with multiple other accolades. The 2009 Kansas Gatorade Softball Player-of-the-Year is currently a teacher in San Jose, California.

Kansas Master Teacher Award Nominee- Andover Central High School would like to congratulate our very own Mary Anne Maupin, a nominee for this year’s Kansas Master Teacher Award! Mrs. Maupin is the English Department Chair and our Library Media Specialist.
Emporia State University established the Kansas Master Teacher Award in 1953 to be presented to earnest and conscientious teachers. To be eligible, a teacher must have served at least five years in Kansas schools, exemplified teaching or administrative effectiveness and demonstrated the attitudes and abilities specified in the National Education Association’s Code of Ethics of the Educational Professional.
In January, a selection committee will choose seven Kansas applicants as award recipients. The president or designated representatives from prominent education organizations make up the selection committee. Two Master Teachers from the previous year also serve on the committee.
Only one person from a district can be selected as a Master Teacher. Selected teachers are recognized during a special Kansas Master Teacher Recognition Day at Emporia State University. Each 2018 winner will receive a $1,000 award from Bank of America to be used for professional development.
Tonight's Basketball Theme is Jersey!!
