My parents, Bill and Janet, raised my brother and me on a family farm just north of Larned, KS. My father operates a moderately sized family farm, and my mother teacher high school Language Arts for Larned High School and Barton County Community College and directs LHS's Drama Department. I graduated from Larned HIgh School in 1996.
My college years were spent in Lawrence, KS at the University of Kansas, receiving my undergraduate degree in 2000. My wife, Elizabeth, and I met at KU and were married the week following graduation. I finished my graduate courses in 2001, the same year we moved to Andover to begin teaching at Andover Central High School.
