This class is designed to teach basic photography. It is a combination of photojournalism and art. It is also 1/2 of a fine arts credit.

Editing skills you need to be successful in this class and an overview of what tools are available in photoshop.

HISTORY/ETHICS OF PHOTOJOURNALISM
How photography was "developed" and it's use as a photojournalistic tool.
Also development of the ethics involved in being a photojournalist.
Photoshop skills that allow one to make a photo look old. This assignment not only teaches you to "old" photos, it also teaches many intermediate level Photoshop skills that can be used in the creation of graphics for art or publication purposes for print or online.
BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPY IN PHOTOSHOP
Alphabet poster--this will enable you to understand photographic resolution which is very important in publications and also create an art project at the same time.
OTHER PHOTOSHOP FEATURES AND TECHNIQUES
Layer masks, filters, layer styles etc.
