This class is designed to teach basic photography. It is a combination of photojournalism and art. It is also 1/2 of a fine arts credit.

            BASIC PHOTOSHOP/SKILLS YOU WILL USE THROUGHOUT THE CLASS

            Editing skills you need to be successful in this class and an overview of what tools are available in            photoshop.

10 DAYS

COMPOSITION 

            Learn and apply the elements of composition.

            How ro create a poster in InDesign

10 DAYS

BASIC CAMERA EXPOSURE

            Aperture, shutter speed, ISO assignment

            Create a poster in In Design

17 DAYS

            HISTORY/ETHICS OF PHOTOJOURNALISM

                        How photography was "developed" and it's use as a photojournalistic tool.

                        Also development of the  ethics involved in being a photojournalist.

            10 DAYS

            'OLD" PHOTOS

                        Photoshop skills that allow one to make a photo look old. This assignment not only teaches you to "old" photos, it also teaches many intermediate level Photoshop skills that can be used in the creation of graphics for art or  publication purposes for print or online.

                       5 DAYS            

                       BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPY IN PHOTOSHOP

           10 DAYS

            RESOLUTION PRACTICE

                        Alphabet poster--this will enable you to understand photographic resolution                                which is very important in publications and also create an art project at the same time.

            10 DAYS

            OTHER PHOTOSHOP FEATURES AND TECHNIQUES

                        Layer masks, filters, layer styles etc.

            FINAL PROJECT

            PUT WORK TOGETHER FROM THE SEMESTER ALONG WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF THE WORK.
