DAILY SCHEDULE for the WEEK of APRIL 30- MAY 3, 2018.

 

 

5th HOUR- Ceramics 1-  On 9” Cartoon Characters  and or Organic Boxes and alternating                         students on the wheel.

                    Ceramics 2-3-Working on Individual Projects Continuation.

 

7TH HOUR- Ceramics 1- Same as Hour 5 ABOVE.

                    Ceramics 2-3- Same as Hour 5 ABOVE.

 DAILY SCHEDULE for the WEEK of APRIL 23-27, 2018.  

 

1ST HOUR – Ceramics 1- Continuation on Organic Box with Lid, some still on Historical 

                       projects.

                       Ceramics 2-3-Working on Individual Independant  Projects.

1st  HOUR- INTRO TO ART- Reading and discussing Chap. 8-9.  Also painting their clay

                      animals during the week.  Then going on to begin Chap. 16 on Thursday.

2nd Hour Sculpture  1- 3 – Working on independent projects.

3rd Hour – INTRO – Same as !st Hour above.

 

5th And 7th HOUR- Ceramics I – Finishing up Historical projects and working on organic                         boxes.  Some are throwing.

                     Ceramics 2-3 – Independent projects.

1st CERAMICS-Ceramics 1- Continuation on HISTORICAL PROJECT REPLICAS.

                           Ceramics 2-3- Continuation on INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS.

2nd HOUR INTRO TO ART-MON.- MAKE-UP DAY, Catch up on whatever, or begin on 

                                                        TORN PAPER COLLAGES, make-up tests, etc.

                                             TUES.-Begin on Preparation drawing for CLAY ANIMAL. Go over

                                                                              Instructions on how to make animals using techniques.

                                             WED.-Begin CLAY ANIMALS.  When finished with the first one,

                                                        Student may make another.

                                             THURS.- Continue working on animals and finish by end of hour.

                                        

4th and 7th HOUR CERAMICS-Ceramics1- Continuation on HISTORICAL REPLICA.

2nd Hour – SCULPTURE I, II, III, IV – Working on Individual Projects.

5th and 7th Hour –CERAMICS I - Finishing up on Historical Replicas and Presentations.

CERAMICS II, III, AND STUDIO ART- Independant Projects.

1St and 3rd Hour - INTRO TO ART - Working on Elements and Principles of              Design Folders.  Due this week on Wed. Oct. 25, 2017.  Worth

                 100 pts. per side.    On Thurs. Oct. 26 begin Watercolor Replication of their favorite painting from the book ART IN FOCUS.   

2nd Hour - SCULPTURE - Continue working on barnwood projects that are independantly inspired.                                               

5th and 7th Hour –  Ceramics 1- Continuation on HISTORICAL PROJECT REPLICA.

                       Ceramics 2-3, and Studio Art- Working on INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS.

ANDOVER HIGH SCHOOL

1st Hour- Ceramics (same as classes below in Andover Central).

2nd Hour- Intro. To Art- 

Monday - NO SCHOOL- INSERVICE

Tuesday – Begin reading of Chapter 3, pg. 50 in textbook.  

Wednesday - Go over chapter and begin working on Chap. 3 Study Guide.

Thursday – Study Chap. 3 Study Guide in groups for 30 min. Then go back to start watercolor         

                 Paintings through the end of the hour.

Friday- “Art Family Feud”- winners get 10 bonus points added to their grade.

            Chapter 3 TEST on Monday!

Monday – Friday – Students working on String Art on Barnwood or other alternative

5TH and 7TH HOUR—  CERAMICS I

Monday-Friday --Students work on HISTORICAL REPORT and PROJECT.

                           Students select their choice of civilizations and historical 

                           period to research to do a report on, then REPLICATE it.

5TH and 7TH HOUR --- CERAMICS II, III and STUDIO ART                       

Monday-Friday— Students working on their own SELF-DIRECTED PROJECTS

1st Hour – Intro to ART

 Classes have learned about the Elements and Principles of Art, so they are to illustrate them in an 
 Art Portfolio using various art media and techniques as required per the lesson handout.

2nd HOUR – SCULPTURE

Students working on SELF-DIRECTED PROJECTS.

5th and 7th HOURS ---- CERAMICS I

Still working on their choice of Chimineyeas or Creative PINCH POT VASE. They should be finished by Tuesday, September

25th, 2017 at the end of the hour.  We will be finishing the week with Clay Whistles.

CERAMICS II, III,  and STUDIO ART ---- Students will be all working on their own SELF-DIRECTED PROJECTS.

WEDNESDAY.     Continue working on their S. G. #3 and grading it.  Pick out teams for

                                 “ART FAMILY FEUD GAME.”  Study at home tonite.

THURSDAY         Teams play “ART FAMILY FEUD” game today.

FRIDAY              TEST #3 Today.

TUE- FRI.            Take Chapter 2 TEST after 15 minute review.

MON.- FRI.       Students will be working on their own independant projects.

DAILY SCHEDULE for the WEEK OF JANUARY 28- FEB. 2, 2018.

1ST and 3RD HOURS------ INTRO TO ART

MON>- TUES.   Read Chapter 2  in class with the Teacher added comments.  After reading the chapter, they

                          will begin the Study Guide #2. Absent students make-up Test #1.

WED.                Students will work independantly on their Study Guide #2 and grade them at the end of hour.

THURSDAY     Select teams and a game host for :"ART Family Feud".  Groups meet in their teams and

                         study together before playing the game on Thursday. 

 FRIDAY           Students divide into teams and play "ART Family Feud".  

                        Students do their final review before taking Their Chapter 2 TEST.

5TH AND 7TH HOURS------  CERAMICS I -

TUES- WED.   Students continue working on their Coil Cylinder pots.  When finished they can make a smaller

                         item of their choice until everyone is finished.  

THURSDAY     Teacher discussion about Maria Martinez and her husband Julian from New Mexico, whose

                         work during the early half of the 1900's made them world famous designing their wonderful

                         black on black pottery.  We will watch videos and look at galleries with samples of their work.

                         Students will be given a hand-out showing various symbology from other cultures, then they

                         will come up with their original designs representing thengs that are important to them in

                         their lives.  After finishing the hand-0ut, they will discuss with the teacher their most suc-

                        cessful designs to use on their Perfect Pinch Pot.  They will paint the designs on their pot

                        in shiny black glaze, then it will be rakued using smoke to simulate their pit firings using

                        sheep and cow manure.

FRIDAY             Student will transfer their design to their pot in pencil, then paint it with four coats of black

                          gloss glaze.

5TH AND 7TH HOURS------  CERAMICS II ,III and STUDIO ART

MON – FRI.     Students work on their Self-Directed Projects.  

2ND HOUR------ SCULPTURE I. II. III. and STUDIO ART

MON. – FRI.   Students work on their Self0 Directed Projects. 

 

 DAILY SCHEDULE for the WEEK of JANUARY 8-12, 2018.

1ST AND  2ND HOUR------ INTRO TO ART

MON.- WED.     Work on ART PROJECT:  “Line- Design”.  Students will design a sheet of computer paper with

                          their first name, one of the hobbies, or sports, or something describing themselves and subdivide

                         all the smaller spaces on their design with interesting doodles.  They will be finished with markers

                          in color.  Turn in their ART PROJECT:  "Line- Design" at the end of the hour on Wednesday. 

THURSDAY      Read Chapter 1, Page 4 in ART IN FOCUS textbook.  Teacher led discussion, class reading.

THURS-FRI.     Students work individually on their #1 Study Guide.  

 FRIDAY            Grade midway through hour. Pick team leaders

                         and select teams and game show host to play and review Chapter 1 on Monday

MON. AUG. 28     Chapter 1 final reviewing for CHAPTER #1 TEST by dividing class into two teams to play

                         “ART FAMILY FEUD”.

TUES. AUG 29  CHAPTER #1 – TEST.

5TH and 7TH HOURS------ CERAMICS I

MONDAY         Continue Creative Pinch Pot.  Deadline on Tuesday at the end of the hour.

TUES-THURS>   Finish Creative Pinch Pot by the end of the hour on Thursday.

FRIDAY            Teacher demonstrates how to make a coil pot and talks about techniques and designs and

                          decoration.  Their pot must be a total of 6 “ in height after drying and have no less nthnan

                          3” of decoration within those 6 total inches.  Their pot must be totally smoothed out on the

                          inside, making it water tight in case they want to use it for a vase, and to make it easier to

                          clean.

5TH and 7TH HOURS------  CERAMICS  II, III, CERAMICS IV, and STUDIO ART

MON.- FRI.   Work on SELF-DIRECTED INDEPENDANT PROJECTS, with teacher assist when needed.       

2ND HOUR------- SCULPTURE I, II AND III, and STUDIO ART

Mon, – Fri.   Work on SELF-DIRECTED INDEPENDANT PROJECTS, with teacher assist when needed.

 

 

 DAILY SCHEDULE for the WEEK OF JANUARY 4-5, 2018.

 

1ST AND 3RD HOURS---- INTRO TO ART

WEDNESDAY.....NEW STUDENT AND FRESHMAN DAY.  SHORT SCHEDULE.

THURSDAY…....HAND OUT SYLLABUS and go over it.  It is to be turned in by FRIDAY, signed by

                          both themselves and their parent/guardian.  If it is turned in by FRIDAY, it is 25 points,

                          on MONDAY, it will be worth 15 points and on Tuesday, it will be worth only 10 points.

                          NOTE:  It pays to be prompt and  listen to details and follow them!!

                           HAND OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION SHEET.  Students fill out during the hour and turn it

                           in before the end of the hour.     

FRIDAY.………...Students work on their first assignment, their "LINE-DESIGN" Personality

                           Profile. They are to put their name in print, cursive, block, bubble letters along with the NUMBER

                           of their hour,  then sub-divide the remaining areas with creative lines, cartoons, drawings and

                           design doodles. Finish in either Black and White, and/or add Additional Colors.

                           DUE DATE….WEDNESDAY. AUGUST 23, 2017 at the end of the hour !

5TH AND 7TH  HOURS -----CERAMICS I

MONDAY      Students handing in paperwork (syllabus and personal info).  Discuss Overview of Class.  Talk about the                       beginning of ART HISTORY and ceramics.  

MON.- WED.   Demonstrate how to make a Perfect Pinch Pot.  Students are to use only their hands to make

                      Their Perfect Pinch Pots.  When they think they are finished, I will make suggestions on how

                      to make it better.  Then students start on Their 2nd Pot- a Creative Pinch Pot.  They still only

                      use their hands, but can ADD their fingernails and knuckles.

THUR-FRI-   Students work on ther Creative Pinch Pots, and get finished for judging and grading on Monday.

 5TH AND 7TH HOURS-----CERAMICS II

MONDAY      Students still handing in paperwork (syllabus and personal info sheet).  Same as Ceramics I above on 

TUES-FRI     BegIn designing their Cookie Jar projects.  Must hold two dozen cookies, have a lid with

                      a flange and handle, and two handles on the sides of the bottom.  Their must be a theme to

                     the jar, or be an animal or some kind, whose head comes OFF. 

5TH AND 7TH HOURS-----CERAMICS III

MONDAY        Same as Ceramics I and II above for Monday.

TUES.-FRI.     Students work on their Self-Directed Projects.

2ND HOUR-----SCULPTURE 1 

MONDAY      Hand out Syllabus.  Talk about Class overview and expectations.  Signed Syllabus is Due on Tuesday.                           Began on Clay Monsters.

TUE.-FRI.     Continue working on the Clay Monsters and stirred up and poured their plaster into their

                     solo cups.  

WED.--FRI   Start carving their PLASTER Sculptures.  Could be a type of Castle, or another scene of

                     somekind.  MUST look  good on all sides, and the design should FLOW together smoothly.
