Going into the break 1-1, Jaguar Volleyball took the court against Campus, easily topping the Colts with a 25-14, 25-20 in two sets. Going into the last match against League opponent Maize HS, the Jags knew they were going to have to play aggressive at the net, and pick up difficult balls on the back row. After a sluggish start, the Jags played with the Eagles, but never overcame the initial deficit. After dropping the first set 19-25, Jags came out firing in the second with an impressive bout of 4 point runs that forced Maize to call a time out at 8-1. The Eagles surged back with tenacious net play, and after garnering a 5 point lead at 14-19, they never looked back. Jags fell 19-25 in the second. “These girls are a lot of fun to coach, and they play really well as a team. We have a lot of expectations of ourselves this year, and we’re going to keep getting better.” Coach Hart is extremely excited for the girls to be back on the court and playing.
